Our responsibilities included the comprehensive design, supply, removal, and installation Non-combustible replacement materials, such as insulation systems, fire breaks, aluminium panels and decking.

For one of the buildings, Victoria House, DMC took on the critical task of compiling and submitting detailed documentation required by the Building Safety Regulator. Given the building’s height, this process was essential to meet stringent safety standards, ensuring full regulatory compliance before project completion. Our efforts aimed to secure both approval and peace of mind, adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality for all stakeholders involved

Services Provided:

  • External Wall Cladding System: Aesthetics, weather resistance and fire safety compliance are paramount in modern construction. DMC Walling was tasked with the installation of a high-quality external wall cladding system, guaranteeing the building’s visual appeal while providing robust protection against fire.

  • External Wall Insulated System: To enhance energy efficiency ,sustainability and ultimately fire performance. DMC Walling provided and installed an external wall insulated system. This not only improved the thermal performance and energy efficiency of the building but also contributed to ensuring the building is deemed safe and complaint in fire safety performance.

  • Aluminium Balcony Decking: Remedial works were required to the balcony decking to remove all combustible materials and replace with a long lasting aluminium replacement. This provided the building owner with the reassurance that the materials and systems used within the building are compliant within the current building regulations.

Challenges Faced:

With the introduction of a new regulator (Building safety regulator) The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) introduces challenges to projects through stringent compliance requirements, increased documentation demands, and rigorous inspections. The need for detailed safety cases, Golden Thread documentation, and adherence to Gateway reviews. These were all challenges DMC had to overcome to gain the ability to begin on the high rise building within the project.
