At DMC Walling, we specialise in cladding and curtain walling solutions — but our commitment goes far beyond the external fabric of a building. While our work focuses on enhancing and protecting the built environment, we also understand the importance of supporting the people who live within it.
At Sandling Park, where we’ve been carrying out ongoing improvement works, our team has been proud to assist residents with a range of everyday tasks that fall outside our usual scope. It’s all part of our commitment to delivering not just a better building, but a better experience for the community during the process.
Helping with Weekly Rubbish Collection
Due to the project, the bin area at Sandling Park had to be relocated. One resident, who has mobility issues, found it difficult to manage the longer distance. He reached out to our Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) and asked if we could assist. Since then, it’s become a weekly routine: the resident contacts the RLO, leaves his rubbish bags in a designated spot, and our team ensures they’re taken to the new bin area. It’s a simple gesture that makes a big difference to his daily life.
Lending a Hand with Heavy Lifting
Before the scaffolding could be erected at Sandling Park, we asked all residents to clear their balconies and patios. One elderly resident was unable to move her garden furniture and plants. Without hesitation, the DMC team stepped in to carefully relocate her items to a safe place. Once the scaffold was removed, our team returned everything to its original spot. The resident reached out to thank us, and we were more than happy to help.
Restoring TV Access for a 94-Year-Old Resident
When work began on another property, a 94-year-old resident began experiencing issues with her TV signal. Our RLO arranged for the team to inspect the aerial, and they found it needed securing to the wall. Although it was fixed, the signal problems persisted, particularly in her bedroom.
Determined to resolve the issue, our RLO purchased a new aerial cable, installed it personally, and retuned the TV. The result? A clear signal, a happy resident — and a heartfelt hug from someone truly grateful.
A Community-Focused Approach
These stories might seem like small acts, but to the residents affected, they mean a great deal. Whether it’s helping with bins, lifting heavy furniture, or making sure someone can watch their favourite programme, we understand that the disruption of construction can be challenging.
At DMC Walling, we take pride in making those challenges just a little bit easier. Because for us, it’s not just about the buildings — it’s about the people who live in them
